Our most Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book an escape experience?
Please book your escape experience online at: https://escapeexpert.com/book-now
I Have a Disability - Can I Still Play?
Now that we have relocated the answer is yes, however, that will still depend on the severity of the disability. Most disabled people that use wheelchairs can play as we have disabled parking spaces with ramp access, wide doorways and we are located in a building that is on the ground floor. We have had many guests in wheelchairs, also hearing and sight impaired! If in doubt please email us or call us prior to booking your tickets, we will do whatever we can to make your experience fun and comfortable for you!
Will I need to bring my reading glasses
Yes, you will be looking at things up close and may have to read clue cards etc, so bringing your reading glasses will be beneficial. But do not worry if you forget we have some that we can lend you at our reception area before your game begins, just speak to one of our staff members.
Can I just watch the rest of my group on camera as I do not want to participate.
Normally we only let people watch their group on a TV/Projection screen if they rent one of our meeting room spaces, these cost $50 - $75 for the hour and you can have as many people as you want watch your groups game up to the capacity of the room.
Occasionally if we have the room availability or if someone feels ill, we may "at our discretion" offer you the ability to watch the game free of charge. but there are no guarantees that we can accomodate this as we may not have any available spaces to watch from, as we do rent out these rooms. I have an expired Groupon, can I still use it
Yes, All Groupons have expired by August 2015, but they are still usable for the value that you paid minus the Sales Tax that Groupon does not collect from you at the time of purchase. Therefore to use it just book as normal using our online booking system and enter your Groupon code (8 Alpha Characters) in to the Promo Code box and if the code is valid/unused it will credit your purchase by either $84 less $6.93 Sales Tax for the 6 Person Groupon or $56 less $4.62 Sales tax for the 4 Person Groupon.
How Much Does It Cost?
The cost is per person per escape attempt, which is $28 plus Collin County Sales Tax @ 8.25% = $30.31 per person per room that they want to play. Please contact us for group rates.
When Should I Arrive?
We ask that you arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Please note that if you arrive late and your escape experience has already started we will be unable to allow you to enter the room. If you have booked the entire room and arrive late we can at our discretion deduct this time from your escape experience in order to prevent delays to future games. If you are more than 15 minutes late your game will automatically be canceled. We do not give refunds for late arrivals, no shows or cancellations.
Are We Really Locked Inside The Room?
Legally, in Texas we can’t lock you in a room. Instead we have to use a virtual lock to keep you “locked” in until you finish your objectives and stop a timer.
I’m Not A Nerd. Can I Still Play?
All the solutions to the puzzles are within the room. You do not need any existing knowledge of gaming, or a degree in criminology in order to play. Just an inquisitive mind and a perceptive eye and pay close attention to details.
Where Are You Located?
2201 K Avenue, Suite A-200, Plano, TX 75074. This is a commercial single story office building, directly behind Tino's Too Mexican Restaurant. If you use Google Maps to direct you, type in "Escape Expert Plano" and it will guide you to our large car park and exact building location.
Is This Something Scary?
Most of our 9 escape rooms are not scary at all, however; escape experiences are designed to be challenging and fun and our Dead End escape room allows people who like the horror genre to be excited as well, making it a fun yet scary escape room experience which is why we have an age restriction of 15 or older for this particular room.
Is There An Age Limit and Supervision Requirements?
We recommend this activity for children age 12 and above due to the intellectual difficulty. But if you have children under 12 you will either be required to book a private event, so only you will be in the only ones in the room or fill the entire room with only your family and friends.
All participants under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent, legal guardian or chaperone who will be responsible for them. There must be at least one paying adult of 18 or older in any room with children under the age of 16. While we do not encourage bringing children under the age of 6 into any of our escape rooms, but we understand sometimes this may have to happen (Babysitter fails to show up etc) but only if it is your own group in the room - All young children MUST BE supervised at ALL times for safety reasons. Children 2 and under must be held or placed in a carrier at all times. Will Other People Be In The Room With Us?
Our rooms are designed to hold a between 6, 8 or 12 people, if you do not book the entire room there may be other guests in the same room with you. If you would like the room to yourself you can make it private by choosing “Private Event” when you make the booking.
Do You Have A Cancellation Policy?
No, all sales are final on our public scheduled bookings . However, if you notify us at least 24 hours in advance we can move your booking to another day. Late arrivals, no shows and cancellations will not be refunded.
How Long Is An Escape Experience?
Each room has a maximum time limit of 60 minutes. How long you spend in the room will depend on your “escape skills”. Once everyone in your group arrives and signs the waiver you will be escorted to our orientation room. You will spend about 5 -10 minutes watching an orientation video and being briefed by one of our Game Masters. A little more time may be required if potty breaks are requested before starting your game :) After your time is up we will spend about 5-10 minutes (time permitted) with you answering questions you may have and taking your team photo.
